Cecilia, you're breaking my heart

Cecilia, you're breaking my heart

With a quick nod to Simon & Garfunkel, it may break your heart to learn that this solemn-faced figure, of Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians and of the blind, is I’m told, the only work of religious art that was able to be salvaged from the church of Nuestra Señora de Los Remedios in Buenavista del Norte when it was destroyed by fire in 1996. Although I never saw it before, I've been told that and read that, amongst other pieces, important 17th Century, solid silver, altarpiece panels were lost. See where this picture was taken. [?]
