Cruces de Mayo

Cruces de mayo 2010. 045. P1510391

Today, May 3rd, is Día de la Cruz (Day of the Cross), which is celebrated most fervently in Tenerife in Santa Cruz (in honour of the city’s founding), Puerto de la Cruz, Los Realejos (which, each year sees the annual firework battle: Europe's biggest firework display) and in Güímar with these beautiful floral crosses.

The floral cross is beautiful, but the butterfly is enchanting, presume its real and not part of the display!?
