Foreign tourists put Canaries in top spot

FOREIGN visitors to the Canary Islands in the first quarter of 2014 have topped a Tourist Movement table. The Islands welcomed more than 3.1 million visitors, up 10.6% on 2013, and accounted for a mammoth 31% of all foreigners going to Spain between January and March. The figures come from the Survey of Tourist Movement Frontera (Frontur), by the Ministry for Industry, Energy and Tourism.
