South airport must be upgraded to boost the economy, says Mayor

GRANADILLA Mayor Jaime González Cejas has stressed the need for major improvements at the South’s Reina Sofia airport to help boost the economy. But he believes that the Cabildo and Canary Island Government are both content to keep it on the back-burner. Cejas feels the airport needs “significant” investment to improve its services because, he says: “It is a fundamental element for the development of tourism on the Island.
