Summer Weather Warnings for Tenerife

Unaccustomed heat can affect anyone adversely, but poses a particular threat to special risk groups, such as; young children, old people, pregnant women and the chronically infirm. Stay in the shade, particularly between 11 am and 4 pm, drink plenty of water (avoid alcohol) and don't overdo the work or sports activities (as if you would?) The authorities often ask people to avoid going up into the mountains (because of the increased forest fire risk) and usually impose an outright ban on lighting barbecues and campfires in risk areas.

If in doubt, don't. For medical attention, call 112.
