Drilling platforms to settle in Santa Cruz

IF you have been to Santa Cruz in the past day or two, it won't have escaped your notice that there are now two drilling platforms off the coast of the capital.

First to arrive was the GSF Arctic I, which will remain until November. It was unable to dock initially because of high winds and had to remain three miles off the coast for eight days.

Yesterday (Thursday), it was set to be joined by the Ensco-owned ENSCO 6000, which arrived from Brazil on board semi-submersible vessel Finesse.
