Santa Cruz vandals – at the double!

VANDALISM cases in Tenerife's capital more than doubled in 2013, according to Santa Cruz Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez.

He suggests people should love their city more – but try telling that to the hooligans!

There were 1,934 cases of vandalism reported last year, accounting for some 3,000 residents involved in incidents concerning street furniture (benches and litter bins), 122 cases in green areas and parks, and 417 others such as litter bugs and graffiti.

These figures mean that vandalism cases accounted for over 30% of incidents attended by police.
