Tenerife rumour mill working overtime following closure of Starco Commercial centre

THE Tenerife rumour mill has been working overtime this week following the closure of Starco Commercial centre ahead of the busiest night of the year.

Thousands of holiday-makers were disappointed, hundreds of workers were hit in the pocket and bar-owners were left furious with the closing of the centre at 530pm last Thursday, just hours before England played Uruguay.

Starco has been closed ever since, but, as we go to press on Thursday evening, there are strong indications that the area could be reopened this weekend.
