Canaries saddled with the most repossessions

THE Canary Islands registered a total of 1,456 foreclosures on homes during the first quarter of the year, and 2,656 properties have been affected overall.

Of the total, 80 were on passed down to agricultural land, 70 for other plots, and 1,050 were in urban areas. But not all foreclosures resulted in repossessions.

These new statistics were published on Monday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
