Over €6 million to improve water system

As part of a joint Adeje and Arona project with the Tenerife Cabildo, over €6.5m has been invested in the desalination and purification plant in Playa de las Américas next to the main police station. This will significantly increase the amount of water processed daily. According to Adeje’s environment councillor Gonzalo Delgado Díaz, at present “81% of the water consumed in Adeje is desalinated”.
