Warship sailors enjoy the peace

THE warship HMS Iron Duke has been in Santa Cruz this week, making a first port visit on her six-month operational deployment in the Atlantic.

The 4,200 tonne ship docked in the capital for four days, prior to embarking on her operations off West Africa.

The ship’s company of over 190 sailors enjoyed a few days of rest and relaxation, but sports and adventurous training were high on the agenda for some.
