Blowing in the wind!

THE Canary Islands’ renewable energy for wind farms will increase dramatically over the next few years.

Today, 7.6% of the Islands’ power comes from this source, and it will jump to 11% in 2016.

And, says the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, it’s just the beginning. Officials are looking to increase the reliance on wind energy in the Archipelago, and a new power “auction” will be introduced.
