Greenpeace full-steam ahead to halt oil plans

ACTIVISTS from Greenpeace, firmly against Repsol’s plan for more oil exploration off the Canary Islands, have stressed their point in no uncertain manner.

They have placed a 6m-high replica of an extraction tower that simulates extracting oil off the Lanzarote coast, and have also  unfurled  a banner on the environmental ship Arctic Sunrise with the slogan “Renewable YES”.

It is a warning from the organisation to Repsol about the dangers it will expose to the coastlines of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
