The Eighth Off The Beaten Track Tenerife Viewpoint

In a recent article, Ten Off The Beaten Track Tenerife Viewpoints, at number eight, Andrea Montgomery writes, "Drag yourself away from the El Caletón rock pools of Garachico and go into the little Parque Puerta Tierra built around the toll gate which survived the earthquake of 1706. At the very back of the park climb up to an obelisk for great views over the town."

We thought you might like that interpreted in images (click the links to see each one full size):
  1. El Caletón rock pools
  2. The toll gate which survived the erruption of 1706
  3. An obelisk (erected to conmemorate the 300th anniversary of the 1706 erruption.)
  4. Great views over the town
Well worth the climb and a fascinating part of the island's history.
