Carnaval Opening Parade 2014

Tonight, Friday, 13th February 2015 (which isn't considered an unlucky day in Spain), is time for the Cabalgata Anunciadora (Opening Parade) that brings the Carnaval to the streets now that all the contests are finished and the Carnaval Queen has been chosen.

This short video shows edited highlights from the Cabalgata Anunciadora 2014, set to Chicago's 25 or 6 to 4. Wait ... Nope that's not typical Carnaval music. And it shouldn't work, but thanks to some fantastic editing it does and some and is utterly brilliant. This video should win awards. Oh and look out for the snotty kid at five minutes in. Priceless!

Should you prefer to see - as well as or instead - the whole two-and-a-half hours of the parade, with commentary and everything from the Canarian tele, here you go.
