Something for the weekend: Carnival Puerto de la Cruz

Coso Puerto de la Cruz 2008

This Saturday, 21st February 2015, sees the Main Parade of Carnaval in Puerto de la Cruz, starting from around 4pm. If you're new to Carnaval, this is a bit smaller and less intimidating than the one in Santa Cruz and is more international and family-orientated.

Still loads of fun, especially if you dress up and join in, however old you are.

But before that, make a date for this afternoon, Friday, 20th February, in Santa Cruz at 6 p.m. for the Coso Infantil (Kid's Parade), and later on in the evening, be back in Puerto de la Cruz for the Mascarita ponte tacón: Men´s Marathon in High Heels.

Also on Saturday in Santa Cruz, from 1pm, are more Carnaval del Dia (Daytime Carnaval events, then on Sunday morning, from 10 am, is the exhibition and parade of Vintage Cars.
