A Guide to Going Vegetarian in Puerto de la Cruz and other stories this week in Tenerife
Ten Tasty Tenerife Restaurants to Try in 2016
Way back in 2012 I wrote a blog about my 10 favourite restaurants on Tenerife. Looking back at that list now, two of them have either closed or changed hands, one was disappointing the last time I went, and two more have long been surpassed. So I thought it might be timely for those planning their Tenerife holiday this year, to give some more up to date recommendations. As always, these are completely subjective choices so feel free to add your own.
A Guide to Going Vegetarian in Puerto de la Cruz
Whilst there are still some locations in the Canary Islands where vegetarians struggle for choice – ‘you can always eat an omelette’ doesn’t count as choice – Puerto de la Cruz in the north of Tenerife isn’t one of them.
A Christmas Walk in Barranco de Ruiz in the North of Tenerife
We hadn’t been to Barranco de Ruiz on Tenerife’s north west coast for a while so, as it’s relatively nearby, it won the privilege of hosting the first of our festive walks. The funny thing about Barranco de Ruiz is the last time we were there it was packed with locals picnicking at the zona recreativa. This time there were more walkers than we’d ever seen previously. In fact every bus that stopped disgorged more of them.
El Medano Is Going Up In The World
Resolutions, like china shops near bull rings, are destined to be smashed, so it was just a need to revive my more healthy activities that drove me to the top of Montaña Roja in El Medano two days into 2016. It’s a good job I checked, there are a lot of changes going on along the Granadilla coast of Tenerife.
