It’s a special occasion, you want somewhere intimate on Tenerife to share a memorable meal with the person you love; somewhere that’s just a little bit different – somewhere with a magical ambience.

Wearing Fancy Dress Costumes at Carnival on Tenerife
Over the years any visiting friends who started out being a wee bit shy of slipping into a silly costume soon change their mind after being in the midst of a crowd of Snow Whites, Minnie Mouses, vampires, clowns, Cleopatras and pirates etc. It doesn’t take long for the penny to drop that in their everyday clothes they’re the ones who stand out as being out of place.

Anything Goes When Santa Cruz Carnaval Meets CD Tenerife
... homage to the hundreds who plastered on the make up, hitched up their skirts, and slipped into their dancing shoes. There were quite a few fans looking part tired, part dazed, and part sozzled but it’s all good fun.

First “hosepipe ban” in the Canaries in 2016 introduced in La Gomera

Adeje Ayuntamiento has announced that the non-governmental organisation (NGO) Lions Club International, which provides humanitarian aid and promotes world peace and understanding, has found a home in Adeje. Mayor Fraga recently received a delegation from the Lions International organisation earlier this month, a meeting intended to strengthen the relationship between the organization and the council.

2nd Noche de tapas y vino in Playa San Juan on 5 March
The first Tapas and Wine Night was crowded out a year ago in the harbour area in Playa San Juan, and organizers hope the second Noche de Tapas y Vino on Saturday, 5 March, will be just as popular. The event starts at 7.30pm and will be going on until midnight, and once again the public will be able to enjoy tapas and wine from just €1, and there’ll be live music to bring the night alive as well.
Unlike so many journalists writing about the resorts, Pamela has not only actually been to Tenerife, she lived on the island for 16 years, for the majority of that time in a rural valley immersed in the local culture in a way that few outsiders have been privileged to do and gaining a wealth of knowledge about the island, its people, their customs, fiestas and celebrations that she is now able to share via this site. Fluent in Spanish, she also translated and reported for the various English-language newspapers.
