Romería de San Marcos Evangelista

This Sunday, 24th April, from 1pm, the Romería in Honor of San Marcos Evangelista (St. Mark the Evangelist) takes place in Tegueste. This famous pilgrimage is one of the most important in the archipelago with the participation of 23 carts (in the form of boats), the Dance of the Flowers and a large number of bands and folk dancers from Tenerife and other islands. As every year thousands are expected to flock to witness this unique example of Canarian tradition.

Also ongoing this weekend are the Fiestas de San Marcos 2016 de Icod de los Vinos and, coinciding with the 400th anniversary of The death date recorded for both Shakespeare and Cervantes on April 23, 1616 and Día Internacional del Libro (World Book Day) there are various Ferias de Libros (Book Fairs) taking place, including XIV Feria del Libro de Adeje 2016, XXVII Feria del Libro Arona 2016, XIII Feria del Libro y III Encuentro de Escritores Canarios in La Orotava, VIII Feria del Libro 2016 in La Matanza de Acentejo and the Día del libro 2016 en Granadilla de Abona.

All events are liable to change beyond our control.
