Daytime Carnival in Santa Cruz de Tenerife Draws 180,000 People



The first Daytime Carnival of 2018, held yesterday, Sunday 11 February, drew a crowd of 180,000 people, according to municipal sources. The streets began to fill with tens of thousands of people from lunch time onwards to see the various performances at the four stages set up by the organisers. While the Parque Bulevar hosted kids' activities, the Plaza del Príncipe was predominently Canarian groups, the Plaza de la Candelaria national and international artists and the Avenida Francisco La Roche filled with electronic music from various DJs. The next Daytime Carnival is on Saturday, 17 February.
