Free concert this Sunday with the bands of Santa Cruz, Tacoronte and Guía de Isora at the Auditorio de Tenerife

The Spring Musical cycle brings togther Santa Cruz, Tacoronte and Guía de Isora bands in the same event at the Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín. The concert, organized by the Federación Tinerfeña de Bandas (Tenerife Bands' Federation) with the collaboration of the Cabildo (Island Corporation), will take place on Sunday 12 May at 11:30 am with free admission. The musical associations Unión y Amistad (Santa Cruz), Santa Cecilia (Tacoronte) and Virgen de la Luz (Guía de Isora) are the protagonists of the concert.

The band from the La Salud neighborhood of the Tenerife capital, Unión y Amistad, founded in 1990, will open the session with Alfredo Javaloyes' El Abanico, continue with music from Jurassic Park, by John Williams with arrangements by Jay Bocook. The 35 musicians of this group, directed by José Nareme Rodríguez Hernández, will continue their repertoire with Grant County Celebration, by Mark Willians, ending with the interpretation of Supertramp, with arrangements by André Waignein.

The Musical Association Santa Cecilia de Tacoronte, formed in 1991, will begin its program with the Pasodoble Festero La Vereda, by Óscar Navarro. Antonio Domingo Ordóñez Abreu, director of the band composed of 60 musicians, will continue the concert with a selection from the Slavonic March, by Tchaikovsky. To finish, they will play a selection of themes from the soundtrack of the movie Lágrimas Rotas, a special premiere for the band that will feature the composer Manuel Lillo Torregrosa as a special guest from Madrid.

Finally, the 80 musicians of the Virgen de la Luz Musical Association, also founded in 1991, will perform in the Sala de Cámara del Auditorio de Tenerife. Under the baton of Antonio Lorenzo Fariña Díaz, the band will begin with El Pasodoble Homage, by José de la Vega. Then, The Inferno the Ascension (from Divine Comedy), by Robert W. Smith, to culminate the session with Songs Of The Wiz, by Quincy Jones with arrangements by Peter Kleine Schaars.
