The Tenerife Walking Festival 2019 (now into it's 5th year) will take place from 21 to 25 May. This is an event open to hikers from all over the continent, combining different types of hikes and trails and original supplementary activities.

Local trekking fans can also enjoy the next edition of the Tenerife Walking Festival, an internationally recognized event among the most important in Europe that will be held from May 21 to 25. The Cabildo (Island Corporation), organizer of the festival through Turismo de Tenerife, has reserved two routes for Tenerife, one for El Teide and another that will run through the heights of La Orotava.

With a duration of between four and five hours, both tours will take place on Saturday May 24 and will have as an initial meeting point the Plaza de Europa in Puerto de la Cruz. The first of them starts at Montaña Blanca, passes through the Mines of San José and ends at El Portillo. The second part of La Caldera, at the top of La Orotava, reaches Mamio and returns to the starting point.

In both cases, they will finish at 5:00 p.m. on the "Paseo de las Banderas", a symbolic section where all the participants arrive together and walk to the Plaza de Europa. There awaits a gastronomic festival and the closing ceremony of the event that will run until 23:00 and includes the musical performances by Los Vándalos and Mala Hierba. The inscription to any of the two routes includes a shirt and four food or drink tickets for the gastronomic festival.
