Tourists spent 109 million euros in the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 2019

The number of visitors to the capital in 2019 grew 2.6% compared to 2018, reaching 2,472,145, of whom 72% were day trippers and almost 20% cruise passengers

Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council is to promote the city as a tourist destination at the International Tourism Fair, Fitur, which will take place in Madrid from next Wednesday. Their aim is to showcase the best of a destination that, last year, was visited by 2,472,145 people, of whom 72.7% were day trippers, 19.8% cruise passengers and 7.5% tourists who stayed in the municipality, a growth of 2.6% compared to 2018. These visitors generated spending in the capital of 109 million euros, an important figure for the economy of the city. In addition, tourism activity generated 6,543 jobs in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 2019. The city's delegation to Fitur will be accompanied by the Carnival Queen of 2019, Priscila Medina, who will wear part of her costume.
