Easter in Tenerife: Pascua Florida in Guía de Isora, Passion of Christ in Adeje and Procesión Magna in La Laguna

Exhibit at the Pascua Florida in Guía de Isora

"In view of the current situation and the forecasts of the Spanish Government relating to COVID-19, the Bishop has established that the PROCESSIONS AND OTHER PUBLIC DEVOTIONAL ACTS of Holy Week are SUSPENDED."

So the best I can offer you is a look back at the Easter events from last year and the hope that they will be able to go ahead again next. These are the three most famous.

Pascua Florida in Guía de Isora

Usually taking place over the four days from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday, inclusive, the Pascua Florida, is the unique and increasingly famous (as well as beautiful) Easter floral festival, held in the oldest, central part of Guía de Isora town.

Passion of Christ in Adeje

On Viernes Santo (Good Friday), the biggest event normally is the Representación de la Pasión (Representation of the Passion of Jesus) or Via Crucis (Stations of the Cross or the Way of the Cross) that usually takes place in Adeje, with a cast of hundreds.

This year, Adeje has cancelled the events of Holy week, including the Passion Play.

Holy Week in La Laguna

The Procession Magna and the Procesión del Silencio (silent procession), normally take place on Good Friday as the climax of Holy Week in La Laguna
