Puerto de la Cruz Council is reopening the Lago Martiánez on Friday 26 June, after undertaking improvements that guarantee safety in this period of new normality. With the introduction of a public address system and a dataphone to pay by card, demanded for years by pool users, the complex aims to offer its best image for reopening.

In addition, adaptation and improvement works have been carried out within the complex, with landscaping, painting and enhancement of the work of César Manrique by the César Manrique Foundation. Among these works, were repairs to the swimming pool of the Monumento al Mar (Monument to the Sea) and to the ship installation that suffered damage after the storm last February.

Cleaning and disinfection work within the complex will be reinforced to offer the best standards to guarantee the safety of users. "We are in a position to open these magnificent facilities offering a sanitary guarantee so that our visitors can enjoy in complete tranquility."

The mayor also announced that the César Manrique Foundation has given its approval for the replacement of the Juguete del Viento El Róbalo (Wind Toy), a mobile sculpture that was lost a few years ago in Playa Jardín. "We are very satisfied with this great news for the image of the city and we will redouble our efforts to continue on this path of work, sharing the values that the Foundation defends and with which we are fully identified." The mayor wanted to remember the debt that the municipality maintains with the legacy of the artist from Lanzarote and which is one of the hallmarks of the municipality and which will continue to work intensively to recover them in all their splendor.
