Camping areas opened from Friday in Tenerife

Área Recreativa Pinar Chío

Do you have plans for this weekend? With alert level 2 in force from Friday, September 17, in Tenerife, following the measures dictated by the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government, you can now enjoy the camping and recreational areas spread throughout the island. The barbecues will be kept sealed; however, the use of camping gas is allowed.

Up to eight people per table are also allowed to stay in twelve recreational areas.

You can already camp in eight areas set up for this purpose in Tenerife. The improvement in the epidemiological situation in Tenerife meant that on Thursday, the Governing Council of the Canary Islands lowered the island from level 3 to 2, something that brings about a relief of restrictions related to leisure. From Friday, following the measures for the use of a mask, safety distance, hygiene and maximum number of people per group (eight, unless they are living together), it will be possible to spend the night in Las Raíces, Las Lajas, La Caldera, Chío, El Lagar, Ramón 'El Caminero', Las Calderetas and Los Pedregales.

The capacity of the camping areas will be 75%. Use will be authorised by the Cabildo, through its reservation centre. Vigilance will be increased against possible breaches.

You can also use the recreational areas of San José de los Llanos, Llano de los Viejos, Las Lajas, Chío, La Quebrada, La Caldera, Las Raíces, El Lagar, Ramón 'El Caminero', Las Calderetas, Los Pedregales and Lomo La Jara.

Up to a maximum of eight people may occupy the tables in said parks, unless they are cohabiting, and always respecting the established opening hours (from 10:00 to 17:00).

Both in the camping areas and on the tables in recreational areas, the use of gas cylinders of up to 3 kilos is allowed (always on a flat surface). The barbecues are still sealed.
