Guía de Isora resumes the cultural program to coincide with its Patron Saint Festivities

Alongside the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Luz in Guía de Isora

The cultural programming for the month of September in Guía de Isora has been designed to coincide with what would have been the main events of the Patron Saint Festivities, which will not be able to be celebrated as in the past, due to the current pandemic.

Music, theatre, art, cinema and activities for family audiences are planned during the month of September. The religious program will also celebrate the most important dates of the festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora de la Luz y al Cristo de la Dulce Muerte (Our Lady of Light and Christ of the Sweet Death), all respecting sanitary measures.

On Friday 17th, the Isora Art Award will take place, which celebrates its XXIII edition. It will be at the Cultural Centre at 6:00 p.m. and the selected works will remain on display for your visit throughout the month. Also on Friday 17, the Burka Teatro company will tour the streets of the historic centre with its play ‘Hypothesis of Eden’, starting at 8:00 pm.

Literature will be the protagonist of the cultural agenda with the presentation of two collections of poems: 'La vida o nada' (Life or nothing), by Ana Hernández, on Saturday 18 and 'Diario de una R-evolution' (Diary of a R-evolution) by Cristina Perdomo on Monday 20, both events in the Municipal Auditorium, at 7:00 p.m.

The Plaza de Nuestra Señora de la Luz will host, on Saturday 18 at 9:30 p.m., the concert of the group The Stanislawsky Method. Music will also be present on Sunday morning with the usual Parade, this year by the Virgen de la Luz Band on the streets of La Entrada, de Arriba and de Abajo, starting at 11.00 am.

The Council has also scheduled family cinema and children's activities for the 19th and 20th (a public holiday in the municipality), as well as the 21st and 22nd in two sessions in the afternoon: at 5:00 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m., all music and cinema activities are subject to the evolution of the health situation.

The events organized by the Virgen de La Luz Parish can be found on their Facebook page. Among them are the Eucharists on Sunday 12, Sunday 19 and Monday 20 September, dedicated to the Virgen de la Luz and the Santísimo Cristo de la Dulce Muerte, all of them at 11:30 am in the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Luz (Church of Our Lady of Light).
