With the rise to Alert level 3 in Tenerife, the preparations for the Carnival is one of the aspects that will have to be reviewed

With the new escalation in the COVID alert, elevating Tenerife to level 3, there are many circumstances that must be reviewed, and one of them has to do with Carnival 2022. The group rehearsals are the first to be affected, since the authorizations and plans were presented on a basis for a level 1. The councillor of Fiestas, Alfonso Cabello, said yesterday that once the detail of the decree of the Government of the Canary Islands that rises to Tenerife to level 3 is available, a decision in this regard will be made, along with the various groups, as well as the format of galas and contests will be re-evaluated.

"In view of the new situation, it is necessary to reassess the decisions that have been made so far, and that is something we will do once we have the fine print of the decree, and of course, always in collaboration with the groups themselves," he said.
