San Silvestre La Laguna Run returns in 2021

The finish line of the race and the year.

La Laguna recovers its traditional sports farewell to the year with the return, in its 2021 edition of the mythical San Silvestre Run 2021, taking place on 31 December, New Year's EveSaint Sylvester's Day. The City Council confirmed the news regarding the event that was awaited by all the runners who, last year, were unable to participate in the most emblematic race of the municipality due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

Numbers were limited to 1,500 this year, and were filled early, since the health situation does not advise carrying out a race with twice as many people, which is the level of participation in previous editions. This year too, works being carried out on Calle San Agustín “will force us to make modifications to the circuit, but the race will remain at the usual distance that ranges between five and six kilometres." Nevertheless, this is seen “as great news for everyone, since it is another step in the recovery of one of the symbols of athletics at the regional level. Undoubtedly, it is a race that, due to its meaning and atmosphere, has already become a classic for people who love physical activity and who hope to say goodbye to the year doing sports on the streets of a city that is a World Heritage Site.".
