Weekend night service of the trams in Tenerife suspended during level 4 COVID measures

Tenerife trams

The vehicles will not be operational in the early hours on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, between 00:00 and 6:00 a.m., unless otherwise communicated by the relevant authorities

Metrotenerife, the Tenerife tram operator, will suspend the uninterrupted weekend night service that Line 1 offered from 00:00 to 06:00 am. This variation of the service will be maintained as long as these latest control measures established by the Government of the Canary Islands against COVID-19 corresponding to level 4 are in force. The daytime weekend service will continue with its usual frequencies on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. That is, both Line 1 and Line 2, service begins at 6:00 am and ends at midnight.

The maximum occupancy per tram is currently at 75%, with 150 people (all seats occupied and 90 standing passengers). The tranviaonline app has already been updated to the new threshold, so it will notify the user of the degree of occupancy of the next trams to arrive at their stops, where audible warnings have also been activated.

Likewise, Metrotenerife continues to apply hygiene and disinfection measures so that the light rail operates with the highest possible health safety, along with promoting compliance with other important regulations such as the mandatory use of a mask.
