Guamasa to host solidarity run on March 26

The Paseo de Las Acacias de Guamasa will host, on March 26, the celebration of a popular run that will have up to four distances and in which even children under 8 years of age can participate. The event has the support of the Insular Athletics Federation of Tenerife and the Autonomous Sports Organization (OAD) of the San Cristóbal de La Laguna City Council.

The president of OAD Laguna, Idaira Afonso, stresses that the run "is a good opportunity to enjoy a different Saturday, doing a healthy activity in which the whole family can participate by running outdoors within the urban centre of Guamasa".

The 1 Carrera Solidaria GUAMASA will have four distances. The one reserved for kids under 8 years of age, which will be over a distance of 500 meters; that of children under 15 years of age, which will be run on a kilometre-long circuit; those over 15 years of age may choose to participate in two distances (3 and 9 kilometres).

The registration fee to take part in any of the races scheduled will be 10 euros, although those under 13 years of age will only have to pay half at the time of registration.

Those interested in participating may formalize their registration, in person, at the Intersport store located at Carretera General del Norte, 144 Los Rodeos. The opening hours for the public will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Or online at this site where there is also an option to donate £10 even if not taking part as the race is being held for the victims of the La Palma volcano, and whose proceeds will go to finance projects and services related to this natural catastrophe.
