A roundup of events for Canary Islands Day

This year with a beginning of a return to normal after the restrictions of the pandemic, there has been a veritable explosion in events being celebrated today, Monday May 30, for the Día de Canarias (Day of the Canary Islands) - a public holiday that marks the anniversary of the first session of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, held on 30 May 1983.

The emphasis is on the traditional and celebration of Canarian culture. Almost every town and village will have its own celebrations, demonstrating aspects of traditional life in the Canary Islands; with local produce, local sports, traditional dress, occupations, music, etc.
