Guía de Isora Hillclimb 2022

Guía de Isora Hillclimb

Pending confirmation, no less than 70 drivers make up the provisional list of entries in the Speed section, seven in Regularity and five in Formula Rallye for the 13th Guía de Isora Hillclimb, which will be held on Saturday, June 4 and will be scored for the Spanish Cup for Teams and the Inter-Island Mountain Championship in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The Isora Motorsport Team decided to set limits on entries to guarantee organizational operability during the event and, except for Regularity, this maximum quota has been reached. The organization has a reserve list if any of the registrations are not confirmed.

Among the registered drivers are Javier Afonso, winner last year in Category 3 with his Silver Car S3, and Juan Carlos Brito, winner in 2020 at the controls of a Ford Escort Cosworth WRC and who this time will try to get back up to top of the Category 1 podium with his Ford Fiesta R5 Plus. Also on the provisional list is Nauzet Brito, who will debut his new Porsche 911 991 GT3, the most powerful of those competing in the Canary Islands.

Dailos Rodríguez, head of Escudería Isora Motorsport, comments: “We are very happy to see that the measures we have taken from the organizing club to lower the registration costs for the drivers have been successful and their response has been massive. Now all that's left is for the fans to respond and everything goes well on race day to get back into the Spanish Hill Climb Championship, which is the goal we've set for ourselves”.

The event will begin Friday, June 3, at 4:00 p.m. with the technical and administrative verifications in Playa de San Juan. However, we will have to wait until Saturday, June 4 to hear the roar of the 77 vehicles that will participate in the race.

The second will start at 3:00 p.m. All the tests will take place along the TF-463, the road that connects Playa de San Juan with Guía de Isora.
