Santa Cruz Carnival in the street in June will not have restrictions nor maximum capacity

Crowds arrive at the Fairs and Congress Centre for the Carnival Queen Gala in 2019

Santa Cruz City Council has confirmed that capacity at the carnival contests and galas will be tightly controlled at the Tenerife International Centre for Trade Fairs and Congresses. Councillor of Fiestas, Alfonso Cabello, has justified this decision given that the design was created for a pandemic context, and the distribution of stands and chairs was previously contracted. However, he has stated that participation in the street will not have restrictions and will not have a maximum capacity.

Cabello has recalled how months ago the party's approach in the summer period was risky but "time has put things in their place and this summer carnival will be a reality from June 3." In addition, he has confirmed that "people are eager", as they are being able to verify with each event they carry out on the occasion of the May festivities in the capital.

He has also detailed that hotel and the holiday home present figures of 100% occupancy for that date and believes that the event will work reasonably well because it is the first time that a carnival is held on a weekend complete.

The events of carnival in the street from June 23, begin with a kind of Burial of the Sardine, Friday 24 will be the Parade and over the weekend of June 25 the Daytime Carnival will be held, to conclude on Sunday, June 26 with the Rhythm and Harmony contest.
