The auction of the Carnival pitches in Santa Cruz allocates 32 of the 49 available

One of the many stalls in the city selling carnival items

The auction raised €45,789.93 and one of the stalls quadrupled its starting price

The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, through the Autonomous Organism for Festivities and Recreational Activities (OAFAR), auctioned on, June 7, at the headquarters of Cajasiete the forty-nine positions available, finally awarding thirty-two. In addition to these, there will be thirty-six spaces reserved for sponsors of the carnival.

This year there is a reduction of 65% in the rate, due to the reduction in the number of days in which the stalls may be installed. The starting prices for Carnival 2022 ranged from just over €6,000 to just over €200 for the 4x2 stall selling Carnival items located on Calle del Castillo. In the final bid, one of the largest stalls quadrupled its final price.

In total, an amount of €45,789.93 was collected, which would be equivalent to an amount of €130,828.06 if those same stalls had been put up for auction at 100% of the usual amount.

The auction was aimed at the exploitation of stalls such as inns, food trucks, bus bars, hot dog sales, nougat and candy stalls, churrerías or stalls selling Carnival items.
