Carnival 2012 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

With Carnaval 2011 in Tenerife now over, no doubt, it’s already time to start practicing dance steps and sew the sequins on costumes. If you missed this year’s events and want to make sure you don’t next year, or want to come again, here are the relevant dates for your diary so you can plan.

Carnaval 2012 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

  • Wednesday, February 15th, 2012: Gala for the Election of the Carnaval Queen, best seen on TV, from 9 p.m.
  • Friday, February 17th, 2012: Opening Parade, usually from 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday, February 21st, 2012: Main Parade, from 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012: Burial of the Sardine 9 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 25th, 2012: Daytime Carnaval 1 p.m. onwards.
  • Sunday, February 26th, 2012: Gathering of Vintage Cars 10 a.m.
