On the 24th, 25th and 26th July, during the Fiestas of San Juan y Santa Ana in the district of Las Vegas, the Danza de las Varas, one of the most curious dances in the Canarian archipelago takes place. The steps, the costumes the dancers and the decorations of their poles are dissimilar to any other dance taking place on the islands.

In June the Fiestas Mayores in honor of San Antonio de Padua and Nuestra Señora del Rosario take place. On the 13th June, fiestas in honour of San Antonio de Padua, patron of Granadilla de Abona, are celebrated with a romería that culminates in a dance in the town's main square. The 24th September, in El Médano, fiestas for the Virgen de las Mercedes de Rojas are celebrated with a maritime procession.
