Tasca La Marea, A Search Well Rewarded

Tasca La Marea is between the main shopping streets of Calle Castillo and Calle de Imelda Sertis where the tram snakes by the Teatro Guimera. Built on the junction of two tight narrow lanes it’s deceptively spacious inside with a split level leading up to an open fronted kitchen where the magic takes place.

Rosie …

I hardly know how to post this, nor how to type through the river that I’m crying right now, but our Rosie died the night before last, poisoned in the hills. She was with her brother, playing to the end. He ate some of the poisoned food too, and he’s gone as well. They were [...]

Springtime in Tenerife: Beyond Words

Someone (forget who) said to me recently, “Don’t you hate it when someone says, ‘There just aren’t words to describe something,’ and then proceeds to ramble on for page after page to try to do that which they just claimed to be impossible?” With that foremost in my mind I will be brief, and let [...]

Inventive ways of municipal fund raising …

Quite a few posts lately have beat around the bush of municipal measures that could result in fines, raising some much needed money for local Ayuntamientos. A couple of recent examples include Adeje’s measures on washing lines on street-facing balconies, and San Miguel’s speed control campaign. One in the press today, however, takes the biscuit [...]
