There are no national public holidays in June, but a few municipal public holidays where individual districts have a day off, for local celebrations:
  • 13 June: Festival of San Antonio de Padua in Granadilla de Abona
  • 24 June: Festival of San Juan Bautista in Arico, Guía de Isora, Los Silos and San Juan de la Rambla
  • 29 June: Festival of San Pedro Apóstol in Güímar
The Tenerife capital wants you to 'Ven a Santa Cruz' (Come to Santa Cruz), where numerous activities are taking place on both Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd with the 7th edition of the 'Actúa Santa Cruz', the 3rd edition of the 'Feria de Patchwork y Manualidades' (Patchwork and Crafts Fair), the 'Feria del Libro' (Book Fair), the art & craft exhibition 'Art Craft Market', among others.

On Saturday from 10.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Plaza de España is the Patchwork and Handicrafts Fair, with workshops and exhibitions of the sewing and handicraft techniques of the Canary Islands. There will also be a display of vehicles by Automotor Canarias on Saturday, June 1, while on Sunday an exhibition of Kia Motor Arimotor will be installed.

In the Alameda del Duque de Santa Elena, on both Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd, from 10.00 to 20.00, will be the 'Art Craft Market' in which 50 artisans will exhibit jewellery products, crafts and pastry, among other items, with children's workshops, from 11.00 to 14.00 hours, and vehicles from Canary Automotive and Kia Motor Arimotor, from 11.00 to 19.00 hours. Also, in the streets Nicolás Estévanez and El Clavel the vintage market, both days from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Casa del Carnaval will remain open both days, from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., with the exhibition of the winning costumes of the Carnival 2019 contests.

Actúa Santa Cruz Festival: More than 300 artists are taking part on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 June in seventh edition of the 'Actúa Santa Cruz' festival, organized by the City Council with the collaboration of 'Cadena Ser'. Events around the Plaza del Príncipe begin at 11 am on both days Apart from the musical and artistic performances, which make up the bulk of the program, this year sports activities such as cross training or calisthenics are included.

Wine Tasting Workshop: Saturday 1 June 2019 from 11 am to 2 pm at the Casa del Vino de Tenerife, Calle San Simón, 49, 38360 El Sauzal, a wine tasting of Tenerife's pre-phylloxera varieties. The prefiloxéricos wines are wines whose plants are in pure state, that is to say, they have not been grafted. The advantage of these vines, is that the plant has a main root able to penetrate to great depth and extract the minerality of the soil to obtain wines of high qualities. This excellence and exclusivity have made the wines of pre-phylloxera varieties true gems of the oenological world. (via)

Folklore in Tejina: Saturday 1 June 2019 at 8:30 pm at the Teatro Unión De Tejina, Calle Arriba, 4, 38260 Tejina, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Agrupación Folklórica San Borondón (San Borondón Folk Group) are performing a show entitled, 'Tradición Viva' (Living Tradition). Entrance 3 Euros. (via)

Tenerife Pride 2019: Organized by the LGBTI Algarabía Association with the support of TransGirl, Chrysallis Canarias and Asociación de Mujeres Trans, the program for Orgullo de Tenerife 2019 (Tenerife Pride 2019) begins on June 1 and ends on the 29th June with the Gay Pride March in Santa Cruz de Tenerife starting at 7:00 p.m. from the Plaza Weyler. Activities in various municipalities of Tenerife (including Icod de los Vinos, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, La Orotava, Puerto de la Cruz, La Laguna and Adeje), with recitals and parties, fairs and festivals, tables and meetings, and memorial events. Adeje is also joining the celebration of the LGBTI Pride, with a Feria de la Diversidad (Diversity Fair) taking place in the Plaza Pedro Zerolo (Zerolo was a gay icon among the Spanish LGBT community) on Friday June 28 from 5pm.

On Sunday 2 June, Los Realejos hosts the Romería de San Isidro Labrador y Santa María de la Cabeza, declared of National Tourist Interest. The Eucharistic, sung by the Tigotán Folkloric Association, will take place in the parish of the Apostle Santiago at 12:00 noon. Once concluded, the Pilgrimage will begin, headed by the icons of both saints, accompanied by the Municipal Corporation of Los Realejos and the Queen of the May Festivities. Floats, carts pulled by oxen, folk groups, families and friends will join the celebration. The route will pass through the Avenida de Los Remedios and Reyes Católicos streets, El Llano, El Sol, La Pila, El Medio Arriba, until it reaches the parish of the Apostle Santiago. The icons of San Isidro Labrador and Santa María de la Cabeza will be taken back to the temple at 5:00 pm, accompanied by the Sabinosa Folkloric Group from the island of El Hierro to the sound of whistles, chácaras and drums.


Armed Forces Day 2019: The Día de las Fuerzas Armadas 2019 (Armed Forces Day 2019), celebrated annually on the Saturday nearest 30 May in Tenerife, consists of various events over the six days from Tuesday 4 June to Sunday 9 June. Starting with, on Tuesday, June 4, at the Teatro Guimerá in Santa Cruz at 6:30 p.m., a concert by the Música del Mando de Canarias, Banda de Guerra nº 2 de la Brigada Canarias XVI y Banda Sinfónica de Tenerife (Military Bands).

Armed Forces Exhibition Saturday, June 8, After the raising of the flag, in the Avenida Marítima de Santa Cruz de Tenerife at 09:00 hours, in the presence of the Military Commander of Tenerife and head of the 5th General Sub Inspection of the Canarian Army, Brigadier General José Antonio Jarne San Martín, there will be a military exhibition from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the Avenida Marítima de Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The Festival de las Artes del Movimiento (FAM) (Tenerife International Moving Arts Festival) is taking place from 5 to 9 June 2019, with many of the varied events taking place at the Auditorio de Tenerife in Santa Cruz.

Fenáutica Nautical Fair

The fifth edition of Fenáutica will open its doors at the Marina del Sur in Las Galletas to offer the most ambitious program in its history. On 8th and 9th of June, the only nautical fair in Tenerife will include more than 70 activities dedicated to the marine world, robotics, the environment, sports and leisure for all ages as well as 45 exhibitors dedicated to the nautical, local crafts and Canarian cuisine. The fair had 13,000 visitors in 2018. Access to the great sea festival of Tenerife is completely free. Events include the Canary Islands Underwater Photo Championship and the Guanche CUP Regatta. The main stage will also host musical performances during the weekend. On Saturday, from 7:30 pm, there will be a tribute to Queen and on Sunday, Los Vandals, at 2:00 pm.

In the Plaza de San Sebastián in La Caleta, Adeje from midday on Saturday 8 June 2019 the Asociación Cultural Imoque (Folklore Club) are organising their annual Imoque Festival. The program includes a crafts fair and tasting of local products; workshops of Salto de Pastor (Shepherd's Leap), chácaras and Gomeran drumming, folklore from La Graciosa; instruments; display of different breeds of native dogs, cattle; Canarian wrestling, tasting of black pig, tasting of cheese from the islands, among others. The festival is open to all audiences and in this sixth edition there will also be musical performances by the "Parranda Los Toledo", soloist "Ciro Corujo" and the Imoque Cultural Association. (via)

On Friday 7 June 2019 at 7:30 pm at the Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín in Santa Cruz, Víctor Pablo Pérez directs the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, with soloist Jorge Luis Prats (piano), in this program by Tchaikovsky and A. Ramos.

Jazz Week in La Laguna. La Laguna hosts its International Jazz Week with events on 6, 7 and 8 June. With 2019 being its 7th edition, this is consolidating itself as a date in the regional jazz calendar. Three days of programming featuring artists such as Jurandir Santana, Seamus Blake, Gabriela Suárez and Eliseo Lloreda and others.

The Tenerife Artes Escénicas (Tenerife Performing Arts Festival) has 14 events taking place between 6 and 9 June in eight locations on the island; Candelaria, Granadilla de Abona, Guía de Isora, Güímar, La Laguna, Puerto de la Cruz, Santa Cruz and Santa Úrsula.

Saturday 8 June from 10 am in the centre of Granadilla de Abona are the Feria de Artesanía y Gastronomía Canaria (Crafts and Canarian Gastronomy Fair) along with a number of other events, including Canarian sports and DJs.

As part of Los Caprichos Musicales de la Isla Baja (Musical Caprices of the Isla Baja), on Saturday 8 June at 8 pm in the Former Convent of San Sebastián in Los Silos see performances by the Coro Juvenil de Auditorio de Tenerife and Coro Infantil-Juvenil de la Escuela Comarcal de Música Daute (Junior Choirs).

And on Sunday 9 June from 12:30 pm in the Plaza La Libertad in Garachico, the Tom Sawyer Jazz Band will perform classics of pop, soul and funk.

IV Motor Concentration

Sunday, June 9. I'm reading this as a classic car meet and there are some beautiful ones on the island. Departure at 10:00 am from the Plaza de los Alisios next to the Adán Martín Auditorium. Route: Santa Cruz - La Laguna - Tegueste - Tacoronte - El Sauzal - La Esperanza - Candelaria - Santa Cruz (Hoya Fría). Access to all events and exhibitions is free.

On the rally calendar, from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 June, is the 10th Guía de Isora Hillclimb, with more than 70 teams taking part.

On Friday 21 June 2019, watch the double sunset at the Güímar Pyramids.

On Saturday, 22nd June 2019, Puerto de la Cruz has Enrame de los chorros, where public drinking fountains get floral and vegetable adornments.


And on the morning of Monday 24 June 2019 watch as the goats get their annual, ritual bath in the waters of the old fishing port in Puerto de la Cruz.

Día de las Alfombras (Day of the Carpets) for Corpus Christi in La Orotava is on Thursday 27 June 2019, with the Romería de San Isidro in La Orotava - one of the largest of these traditional pilgrimages in the Canary Islands, of national tourist interest, described as the prettiest - on Sunday 30 June 2019. The Romería de San Juanito in Igueste, Candelaria, takes place from 5:30pm on Sunday 23 June 2019, according to the La Casa de Los Balcones. However, the Agenda for the month of June at Candelaria Town Hall (PDF) has these fiestas down for 24 June. We'd guess the town hall should know.

The Centro Internacional de Ferias y Congresos (The International Centre for Trade Fairs and Congresses) in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Saturday 22 June, to mark International Day of Yoga, is hosting Tenerife Yoga Day 2019. The main events take place on the 22nd, open to the general public, with which it is intended to disseminate the philosophy of yoga in all its meaning. During the day, which will take place from 9.00, various activities will take place such as musical acts, asana samples (postures), screenings and talks. There is also space for the explanation of the history of yoga, an area for practice, meditation, children's area and another area for people with disabilities and a gastronomic area with healthy eating, open to the public and free of charge.


Granadilla Rally 2019

Saturday 22 June 2019 sees the 28th Villa de Granadilla Rally, between 9:30am and 7pm. Two new sections will be held on Friday June 21 at night, El Rio - Chimiche of 9.9 km and Atogo - Charco del Pino of 8.1 km. On Saturday sections in Arico of 7.5 km, La Cisnera Granadilla of 11.2 km, Martela - Fronton of 16.1 Km and Atogo 6.5 km. XXVIII Rallye Villa de Granadilla.


Saturday 22 June, from 3pm to midnight, at Golf Costa Adeje is the 11th Edition of the Ritmos del Mundo Festival (Rhythms of the World Festival). With 5 stages and more than 30 artists including Will Wake, Nic Fanciulli, Waff, Jillonaire of major Lazer, cesqeaux, Juicy M, DJ2D2, Brina Knauss, Holly goof, Tom Staar, Héctor Couto, Conjurer, Jairo Delli, Drummer, Bobby Bob, Juana La Cubana, Roger S. Morgan, Juacko, Groove Brothers, Fat Boyz, among others.

Santa Blues 2019

This year sees the 15th Edition of the Santa Blues Festival, the main event of which is on Saturday 29 June, from 9pm, in the Calle La Noria (alongside the Iglesia de la Concepción in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with the Mojo Blues Band, the Maho Blues Band and Big Daddy Wilson headlining. The Maho Blues Band, from Valencia, are also performing on Sunday 30 June, from 9pm, in the Plaza in El Médano.

Local artists and artisans, Aguitasalada, Alura, Irene y Mööser, are taking part in an an Arts and Crafts Market on Saturday 29 June, from 10am to 1pm. at the Craft Coffee Gastrobar (Calle Plaza San Cristóbal, 23, 38204 La Laguna).
