Tenerife Fiestas in June 2019

Playa Jardín on the Eve of San juan

There are no national public holidays in June, but a few municipal public holidays where individual districts have a day off, mostly because of local celebrations:

  • 13 June: Festival of San Antonio de Padua in Granadilla de Abona
  • 24 June: Festival of San Juan Bautista in Arico, Guía de Isora, Los Silos and San Juan de la Rambla
  • 29 June: Festival of San Pedro Apóstol in Güímar

On Friday 21 June 2019, watch the double sunset at Solstice at the Güímar Pyramids

On Saturday, 22nd June 2019, Puerto de la Cruz has Enrame de los chorroswhere public drinking fountains are decorated with floral and vegetal adornments.

Sunday 23rd June 2019, the Eve of San Juan, brings together pagan rituals with a free open-air festival of music and bonfires on Playa Jardin, Puerto de la Cruz.

And on the morning of Monday 24 June 2019 watch as the goats get their annual, ritual bath in the waters of the old fishing port in Puerto de la Cruz.

The Día de las Alfombras (Day of the Carpets) for Corpus Christi in La Orotava is Thursday 27 June 2019, with the Romería de San Isidro in La Orotava - one of, if not the largest of these traditional pilgrimages in the Canary Islands, of national tourist interest and often described as the prettiest - taking place on Sunday 30 June 2019
