The
XXXVII (37th) Pinolere Craft Fair 2022 under the theme
Living Treasures, this year will be held on
September 2, 3 and 4, 2022 at the
Pinolere Museum and Ethnographic Park.
The Pinolere Regional Craft Fair, after the changes generated by the global pandemic, returns to its original dates: the first weekend of September.
This year's edition is expecting 151 stalls where artisans will be able to offer their products, in addition to various activities, in a return to complete normality after two years marked by the restrictions of the pandemic. In addition, two free buses will be available from La Orotava to the Fair, "which will operate continuously, in very short time intervals, between 10:00 and 19:00 on the three days" .

Eclipse Reggae and
Dactah Chando headline the VIII edition of the
Reggae Can Festival that will be held from
September 5 to 9 in Tenerife and La Gomera. Organizer of the Reggae Can Festival, Ruth Barreto, has invited Reggae lovers to participate one more year in this festival that "has established itself within the musical scene of the islands." She has announced that from
September 5 to 8, the municipality of San Cristóbal de La Laguna will host this eighth edition, with the closing being on
Friday, September 9 in San Sebastián de La Gomera.
The
Romería de la Bajada de la Virgen del Socorro in Güímar will return on
September 7, with the traditional programming of the celebration. This festivity is said to be the oldest on the island and in the Canary Islands. On September 7, the
Virgen del Socorro will leave again for the village where she met the aborigines, on
Chimisay beach. Through the
Camino de El Socorro, the pilgrims will accompany the Virgin from the church of San Pedro to the hermitage. In 2019, the participation was 80,000 people, according to the organisers.
The Fiestas of
Nuestra Señora de La Luz (Our Lady of Light) in
Los Silos, like so many other things have not been able to be held for the last couple of years. However, this year we've spotted that the
Comisión de Fiestas La Luz - Los Silos (Organisers) announced on 12 August that they had resumed meetings to plan actions to continue with the idea of the celebration of the 500th Anniversary of the
Virgen de la Luz festivities. These fiestas, of which
8 September is the
día grande (big day), usually take place from late August, until mid-September, culminating on
16 September with the
Octava de la Virgen.
The Fiestas in honour of the
Cristo de La Laguna are celebrated during the month of September, the most important day being the
14th, a holiday in the municipality. In the presentation of the program of popular events, Badel Albelo spoke of the "reunion" of the festivities with the La Laguna society, assuring that the program for this edition shows that the festivities of Christ are "the most important in the municipality", where there is no lack of both internationally renowned and established Canarian artists.
On the 9th the image is transferred from the Sanctuary (
Real Santuario del Cristo de La Laguna) to
La Laguna Cathedral. On the 14th, around noon, the Image of Christ returns to the Shrine in procession with the assistance of a representative of His Majesty The King. That same day, at night, another procession takes place touring the convents of the Claras and Catalina Nuns. At the end of the act, an firework display takes place in the
Plaza del Cristo.
As is customary, the central acts on
Wednesday, September 14, starting at 7:00 p.m., with the celebration of Eucharist outside the
Real Santuario del Cristo de La Laguna, presided over by Victor Manuel Álvarez Torres, Rector of the Royal Sanctuary. The liturgical-musical accompaniment of the Holy Mass will be borne by the "Musical Group Achamán, Jovenes Sabandeños”, under the direction of D. Héctor González. At its end, will be the
PROCESSION of the Venerated Image through the main streets of the City, visiting the convents of the Poor Claras and Catalina nuns. Upon arrival at the
Plaza del Cristo, the Image will be placed to contemplate the fireworks of the "
Fuegos del Risco" at 11 pm.
Throughout the month La Laguna will be the scene of musical, children's and sports activities that attract thousands of visitors. The City Council of La Laguna has already started the assembly work for the main stage of the Fiestas del Cristo 2022, which after the two years of parenthesis marked by the pandemic will be held normally again. Mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, and the Councillor for Festivities, Badel Albelo, visited the installation in the Plaza del Cristo, with dimensions of 360 square meters. Everything is ready for the first of the events, on September 2, with the zarzuela show of the Symphony Orchestra of Tenerife. The square will have a capacity of approximately 5,000 seats, that will increase considerably in shows in which the public attends standing. The Plaza del Cristo will also host the concerts and performances linked to these festivities, such as the Sabandeño Festival, the concert by the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, the Night of Humour, the Seniors' Day or the Night of Traditions.
Cocktail route in Puerto de la Cruz From September 2 to 18, 2022. The municipality of Puerto de la Cruz will host the second edition of "
Cocteleando por el Puerto" (Cocktail Festival). The event begins this
Saturday, September 3, and will offer thirty different cocktails in venues throughout the city, with the aim of continuing to promote the offer presented by the sector of bars, terraces, pubs and entertainment venues in the city. The event currently has thirty participating establishments, although the list may be increased in the coming days.
This is an initiative of the City Council's Commerce area in collaboration with the city's merchant associations. Mayor, Marco González, stressed that in the new edition "all kinds of cocktails will be made, with and without alcohol." On the other hand, the councillor responsible for the Commerce area, Roberto Medina, has assured that this edition will meet the "expectations of customers and merchants" and thanked the collaboration of all commercial entities.
On Sunday, September 4, after prayers in honour of San Blasito, at 1:30 p.m., a boat pilgrimage, departing from the Plaza de Agua Dulce towards the pier, concluding with a verbena (dancing) to the Los Concejales group.
The procession and fireworks will be held on Saturday, September 10, and on Sunday, September 11, procession from the church, from 1:00 p.m. to the pier, where a mass will be held in honour of the deceased. The end of the festivities party on the pier is on Monday, September 12.
The summer carnival,
began in 2016 to give summer visitors a taster of the events of carnival proper, and may include events such as the election of a King of Carnival as well as a Queen of Carnival, the Junior Carnival Throne, carnival exhibitions, parades, concerts and dances.
The seventh edition of the
Tenerife Summer Carnival was presented this Thursday at the Costa Martiánez Tourist Complex, which will serve as the setting for the election gala for the
King of Carnival, one of the high points of a carnival that returns to the streets to share the joy of one of the celebrations of the identity of
Puerto de la Cruz.
There will be two nights of Carnival in which the carnival will be lived in all its splendour, which will be the gala on Friday, September 9; the candidates for King of Carnival will be presented Friday, September 2. For this edition, the number of candidates has risen to 14, dressed in fantasies that will undoubtedly honour what is already a recognized festival on our islands. "In addition, the live broadcast by Canarian Television will give even more splendour and resonance to a monarch who will put himself at the service of the city to continue defending one of its quintessential festivals," said Councillor Alberto Castilla.
On Wednesday, September 7, along with the election of the children's throne, the Carnival Ambassador will be elected, "a figure that was born to represent and be the image of our Carnival in all those events for the promotion of a carnival that is increasingly important in terms of promoting tourism in our city”, stressed the mayor.
In the second week, in which there is time for reflection and debate with the 4th Carnival Trends Forum, which, as in previous editions, will bring together all those voices that have so much to say about the present and future of carnival. The second weekend, that will host the King's Gala, will give way to the first of the two nights of Carnival with the Fiesta de los 90 on Friday, 9 September and with the float party on Saturday 10 that will bring people together, at Martiánez beach, and who will enjoy a wide list of artists who will put on the music to celebrate this carnival to the fullest in the place that it belongs: the street.
For Sunday 11 from 5:00 p.m., the already traditional massive Coso (Carnival Main Parade) is expected from the Plaza del Charco to the Paseo de Colón, as the end of the celebration for an edition that aspires not only to consolidate a brand that is already part of the calendar of all good carnival-goers, but also to lay "a solid foundation for Tenerife to have an attractive and unique event to continue enjoying what sets us apart, so that residents and visitors alike can enjoy together and in harmony an experience that they will undoubtedly repeat.
As well as the well-publicised
Camino del Hermano Pedro (Brother Pedro's Pilgrimage Route) that takes place each spring, a nocturnal route related to the Saint, canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2002, is held. This year the Night Route to the
Ere del Hermano Pedro (the
Cave-Shrine of Santo Hermano Pedro) will celebrate its XVII edition, under the theme of fishing activity in
El Médano and
Los Abrigos, on
September 16.

It is tradition that, on the last Sunday of September, the residents of Vilaflor go out to collect almonds along a route of about five kilometres. The collected almonds are sold the following month at the Feria de la Almendra (Almond Fair), known as La Gran Majada, in Aripe in the municipality of Guía de Isora.
