Courtesy of newspaper La Opinión de Tenerife, we bring you this Programa provisional del Carnaval de Santa Cruz de Tenerife 2019. (This was also confirmed on the official carnival website.) After the inauguration on 1 February 2019 and the numerous contests, highlighted are the events from Friday, 1 March to Sunday, 10 March 2019 once carnival takes to the streets.

"The Deep Sea" Theme of Carnival in 2019
Las profundidades marinas (The Marine Depths / The Deep Sea) is to be the theme of Carnival in Santa Cruz de Tenerife 2019, chosen by 26.7% of carnival fans who voted online at the official carnival website up until 14th February. In second place was 'Modern Japan (Manga)' with 26.5% of the vote. The other options were, 'Hell' with 17.3%, The Flirty 50's' with 13.4%, 'New York, the city that never sleeps' obtained 6.9% of votes, 'The African Savanna' got 4.2%, 'The Old West' 3.3%, and 'Exotic Thailand' trailed up the rear with just 1.8%.

Puerto de la Cruz Carnival
The International Carnival of Puerto de la Cruz in 2019, will take place between Saturday, 16 February and Sunday, 10 March 2019, with the main events:- Thursday, February 28th, 2019 - Election of the Carnival Queen
- Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 - Proclamatory Parade
- Wednesday, March 6th, 2019 - Burial of the Sardine
- Friday, March 8th, 2019 - Men's Marathon in High Heels
- Saturday, March 9th, 2019 - Main Parade
Los Gigantes Carnival
The start of carnival in Los Gigantes is usually on the Friday ten days after Shrove Tuesday. Therefore, we calculate that their carnival should start on Friday, 15th March 2019, with their main parade being held on Sunday, 17th March 2019, but will update when we get any further information. UPDATE 16/01/19: The dates of Los Gigantes Carnival 2019 were confirmed as 15th to 23rd March 2019.International Carnival of Los Cristianos 2019

On 9 Jan 2019, the poster for Los Cristianos (Arona) Carnival was announced and we now know that the theme for this carnival is to be "The Jungle". The dates of Los Cristianos Carnival 2019 - from 21 March to 1 April - have been known for some time - indeed we updated them and created the Facebook Event for Los Cristianos Carnival 2019 back in Nov 2018 - but yesterday's announcement (via) did also include further dates and information on the main events:
- Thursday, 21 March - Presentation of candidates for Carnival Queen
- Friday, 22 March - Comparsas Contest
- Saturday 23 March - Opening Parade (Cabalgata anunciadora) in Playa de Las Américas followed by the Wig Party
- Sunday, 24 March - Carnaval Concert, Carnival Procession and Murga Groups
- Monday, 25 March - Choreographed Dance Groups Festival
- Tuesday, 26 March - Gala Election of the Senior Carnival Queen
- Wednesday, 27 March - Gala Election of the Junior Carnival Queen
- Thursday 28 March - Election of the Carnaval Queen (Gala de Elección de la Reina)
- Friday 29 March - OAP's Carnival Dance and Drag Queen Gala
- Saturday 30 March - Daytime Carnival (Carnaval de día)
- Sunday 31 March - Pets' Costume Contest in the morning and, in the afternoon, Carnival Main Parade in Los Cristianos (Coso Apoteósico)
- Monday 1 April - Burial of the Sardine (Entierro de la Sardina)
